Reverse
Reverse Singlet machines are possible, but uncommon. Some CL machines could be Reverse Singlets (coming soon).
More commonly, the Reverse machine can be a version of the same machine - namely when the Left-Right Doublet coincides with the Reverse Doublet. The classic Pickpocket is a well-known example of this.
Generally, the machine and the Reverse machine are distinct. Although I prefer when such situations are named with this in mind, there are Classic machines where the machines have unrelated names. The Ninja Star and Nunchuck are in the same Reverse Doublet.
Because the word "Reverse" would otherwise be a great choice to refer to "Rewind", there is also the issue that there are situations where someone names "Reverse machine" to what I refer to as the Rewind machine. Given that the use of "Reverse" is solidly established in poses, I reserve "Reverse machine" for situations involving the Reverse poses.
As both the Reverse machine and the Rewind Reverse machine pass through the same Reverse poses, it can be challenging to correctly identify which is which. The Rewind Reverse Catherine's Wheel is often referred to as the Reverse Catherine's Wheel. While in machines passing through several poses it should be clearer which is which, I often have to think carefully which is which for 2-step machines. I have incorrectly assigned names more than once e.g. in the Futurina set and Futurouta set. The Hop set is a set where the correct Reverse Hop and Rewind Reverse Hop are easier to identify.
